How many openings does AEI have available?
Each year, about 30 to 40 openings become available at AEI. Most of AEI’s vacancies are entry-level, and occur during the summer—typically ten or more. These positions are posted online beginning in the spring months. Additionally, opportunities for all levels of experience regularly become available throughout the year.
What does AEI look for in job candidates?
Because of engaging job responsibilities and excellent opportunities for professional growth, AEI prides itself on attracting top talent. We seek candidates with excellent academic records (typically 3.6 or above GPA) and a demonstrated interest in public policy and position-related fields. All job opportunities require excellent organizational, research, writing, and computer skills. Requirements for specific positions are listed with each job advertisement.
Whom would I work for if I were hired as a research assistant? What would my job duties be?
We typically hire research assistants to work with between one to three of our distinguished policy scholars. Responsibilities are fourfold: research, writing and editing, event planning, and administrative tasks. Specific research projects vary by scholar and department, and will be described in individual job advertisements.
